About New Britain Medical
A Local CT company, Nationally Accredited
Our company was founded by Joe Paladino, who has had a spinal cord injury (Quadriplegic) since 1973 following a car accident on his 16th birthday. We understand first-hand your needs, and are dedicated to helping supply the needs of patients with spinal cord injuries, urinary incontinence, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, and many other urologic conditions that require catheterization.
As a nationally accredited provider of sterile use catheters, urologic and disposable medical supplies, we are in network with State Medicaid, Medicare, and many other private insurance plans for your convenience. We do all the billing & paperwork, and will work with your physician or case manager to obtain all medical documentation we may need to provide you with excellent service.
We Are Here For You
Because we are a local Connecticut company, someone will always be available to speak with you – you will never have to answer to a call center. Our small team will get to know you on a personal level, and will discuss your many options from a variety of manufacturers we carry. We can offer educated advice and free samples, so that YOU may choose which you like best and that works best for your needs.
New Britain Medical Supplies is also here to help should an emergency need for supplies arise. Simply call our office and speak with a consultant right away. You can expect to speak with a compassionate, dedicated member of our team, who cares a lot about you. Convenient home delivery is always FREE.
Our focus is on offering you help, guidance, encouragement, and trying to assist in any way we can to help you enjoy a more rewarding, fulfilling, and joy-filled life. At NBMS, Caring really IS an important part of every catheter we supply.
Your patronage also helps us support programs that assist the disabled and their families. Our participation in—and sponsorship of—the Spina Bifida Association, Camp Harkness, wheelchair rugby, the Paralympic Games, and more is an extension of the care and commitment we have to the total well being of our clients—and to all those facing physical challenges.
About Our Founder – A Letter From Joey
In 1973, I was injured in a car accident that left me with a spinal cord injury- leading me down a life path of helping others with similar afflictions. While at a rehabilitation facility in Virginia, I got involved in wheelchair sports and began competing in the Olympic Games from 1976-1981. During this time, I met my wife Lynn and I was married three months later.
Before starting NBMS, I served as a Transitional Counselor/Advocate dedicated to helping people with disabilities live independent, rewarding lives. One of my duties was to help people stuck in nursing homes get back in the community and live independently. It was rewarding to help people get back on their feet and see them live a more fulfilling life.
After fifteen years of working as a Transitional Counselor, I decided to open up my own medical supply business. I found that there was no company that could relate or understand the importance of finding the right catheters that would not only help with UTI’s, but my overall health and well-being.
As founder of NBMS, I truly understand the challenges and complications you face for obtaining and using the RIGHT catheter. You see, I not only supply catheters- I rely on them. I know the challenges and problems that people face in dealing with a number of related issues such as constant urinary tract infections. Today, it gives me great pride to state, and in fact promise, that my well-prepared staff and I are dedicated and ready to help you.
Our mission is to provide our customers with an unmatched level of personal service, trusted education and product advice about the wide variety of quality products there are today.
